WELLINGTON COUNTY – Susan Farrelly is Wellington County’s new director of human resources.
The county announced on Feb. 15 that Farrelly will assume the position on March 4, succeeding Andrea Lawson, who will be retiring from the role on Feb. 28 after 18 years of service.
Officials say Farrelly brings over 19 years of experience to the role, including 14 in Wellington’s human resources department.
She has most recently worked as the director of human resources for the City of Waterloo, and was previously the assistant director (2005 – 2017) and the acting director (2017) of the county’s human resources department.
Farrelly’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree and a diploma in human resources management from the University of Guelph, an advanced leadership certificate from the University of Waterloo, and a human resources and employment law certificate from the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks, and Treasurers Ontario.
She has been a member of the Ontario Municipal Human Resources Association Board of Directors since 2017.
“County council and staff are very happy to welcome Susan back to the County of Wellington,” said Warden Kelly Linton.
