Country Fun For Everyone at the Aberfoyle Fair on Sept. 9 and 10

With the theme Country Fun For Everyone, this year’s fall fair here should prove to have something for everyone.

For $5 children get an All Activity Bracelet on Saturday.

This gives access to all bouncy castles and up to three great prizes for the games. Also many craft activities and races.

Admission: adult $10 and children under 12, free. Free parking.

Exhibits will be received for judging starting Sept. 9 from 9am to 5pm. The fair officially opens at 6pm on Sept. 9. Friday night events include knockerball from 6pm to 10pm on the ball diamonds.

From 6:30pm to 11pm the arena will host live bands for all ages. Tractor pulls begin at 6:30pm at the back of the fairgrounds at the track.

On Saturday, Wellington 4-H is having a silent auction all day and the Aberfoyle Farmers Market is all day as well – starting at 8am.

At 9am, market tent vendors set up and open.

It also marks horseless jumping in the horse ring where kids can see what the horse sees.

At 9:30am, children’s races begin in the children’s tent.

It also marks the beginning of the light horse show and the silent auction and display by the 4-H clubs.

By 10am all buildings will be open.

The Puslinch branch of the Wellington County Library is holding a used book sale. An all day scavenger hunt is also being planned for children. Register in exhibit hall. Youngsters will get an up close view of farm animals in Macdonald’s farm area.

And there will be bouncy castles galore … check them out.

Music on the patio begins at 11am with Two of a Kind.

Also at 11am are the 4-H shows (sheep followed by calves), a pet show, Sciensational Snakes, and face painting. Noon hour marks the ‘Great Loonie in the Straw’ in the children’s tent, while the team room opens in the Alf Hales room of the community centre.

The kiddies tractor pulls begin at 1:30pm while novelty competitions get underway in the ball diamond at 2pm.

At 2pm the children’s tent will feature entertainer Nic and Norm, while the patio entertainment is Cross Country.

ATV and garden tractor pulls begin at 3:30pm and the buildings close at 4:30pm.

Then get ready for an Old Tyme Dance in the community centre at 8pm with the Puslinch Country Squires and the Puslinch Fiddle Orchestra in the main hall. Tickets, $12.50 advance or $15 at the door.
