Council declares “˜Toastmasters Month”™

It didn’t take any speeches to convince Wellington North council to declare October “Toastmasters Month.”

At its Oct. 7 meeting council did just that, declaring it “Toastmasters Month” in the township.

The declaration recognizes the work done by the organization and its Toastmasters of Mount Forest Club, which teaches speaking skills and how improved speech can improve lives.

“Our club’s accomplishments are far-reaching,” the club’s vice president of public relations Pauline Brown said in a letter asking council to consider the declaration.

“Toastmasters of Mount Forest and thus, our Township of Wellington North, have been represented in the cities of Toronto and Kitchener, where they have shared the stage with other great speakers and finalists in the public speaking competitions,” Brown stated in her letter.

Council approved the declaration.
