In the Nov. 20 edition of the Wellington Advertiser an article regarding a Niska Road update for Puslinch council contained two errors.
A letter from Don Kudo, deputy city engineer/manager, infrastructure services engineering and capital infrastructure services said, “Niska Road is a two-lane collector road as designated in the city’s official plan.”
The Guelph Wellington Transportation Master Plan was developed in direct consultation and involvement with the County of Wellington.
Some comments were also incorrectly attributed to Kudo.
The following statements were made in a letter to council from Downey Road resident Laura Murr not Kudo.
Murr said the city is aware that the Puslinch portion of Niska Road is not built to urban road standards.
Murr added that since the EA study area ended at the Speed River, Guelph did not have to consider the impact of a 30% or more traffic increase on the road surface for the rural residents who live along Niska and Whitelaw.
She contended the only way to correct the problems created by limiting the study to the city of Guelph is to restart the EA in order to add the entire road lenghth from Whitelaw and Wellington Road 124 to the Speed River in addition to the current study area.
