It’s that time of year again – Culture Days.
While the entire county is celebrating local culture from Sept. 25 to 27, Elora Fergus Tourism is proud to be part of the celebrations for a fourth year with the ever popular Culture Passport.
“This year’s Culture Passport is an absolute cornucopia of culture,” reports Elizabeth Bender who is assisting in the coordination of the weekend event.
“We are kicking things off in style on Friday at the Fergus Grand Theatre when several of Centre Wellington’s finest will take the stage to sing, dance, act and paint and ending with a tea party in the Elora Greenspace on Sunday.”
Bender said exciting new additions to this year’s passport include learning to Highland Dance with the Blue Bonnet Lassies; a drawing workshop with ballpoint pen artist Francis Baker; laugh out loud comedy at the Fergus Grand Theatre; local history at the Bookery in downtown Fergus; open houses at the Grand 92.9 and Cogeco TV; and a Halloween themed Studio Tour at the Flying Leap B&B.
This year’s passport also features the grand unveiling of a Love Lock Sculpture at the Kissing Stone in Fergus (bring a lock and your love ones) and an evening walking tour of the spirits of Fergus past.
Returning favourites include Puppets Elora; Elora Farmers Market including pumpkin fun with Sensational Elora; Shakespeare in the Park with the Elora Community Theatre; Rural Romp Fall Tour; and Older Voices Walking Tours.
