Shade’s Mills conservation area, Pinehurst, and Belwood Lake are all open again for ice fishing.
Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area, south of Cambridge, is open daily between 8am and 4:30pm. Snowshoeing is currently unavailable but it will open when trail conditions permit. Snowshoe rentals are available.
Anglers at Pinehurst will be able to fish for pumpkinseed, bluegill, and black crappie. There are no ice huts or equipment rentals. Park admission is $4.25 for adults, $2.50 for children 6 to14 and free for children five and under.
Belwood Lake near Fergus is also open daily for ice fishing. It has the same operating hours. Anglers will be able to catch pike, perch, and walleye. Bait is available for purchase and fishing huts are available for rent for full or half days. There is a parking fee of $6 at Belwood and that includes admission to the park.
