Conn church’s nativity display featured 576 Christmas story scenes

CONN – Knox Conn Presbyterian Church opened its doors from Dec. 6 to 8 to share its 8th annual Nativity Display.

Each year, the number of nativity scenes increases, and this year it took two days to set up the tables to accommodate the ever growing collection. Perhaps more significant is the full two weeks it took to set up all of the scenes.

According to organizers Janet deGroot and Penny Renken, the collection now has 576 nativity scenes, and also includes unique Christmas cards, angels, snow globes and traditional international Christmas decor.

Most of the seasonal items were loaned to the church by members of the congregation and the wider Conn community, deGroot explained.

The items will be returned to their owners in time for them to decorate for Christmas.
