On April 6 dancers from the Blue Bonnet Lassies School of Highland Dance competed at the SDTA Spring Festival in Ancaster and the Spartan Tartan Highland Dance competition in East Lansing, Michigan. Scarlett and Gabby Jackson, Ainsley and Kori Stewart, Eila and Fiona Gillies, Ella Murray and Emma Horsley competed at the SDTA Spring Festival. In the Primary 4 and 5 years category, Scarlett placed first in fling, second in Pas de Basques and fifth in Pas de Basque and highcuts. In the Beginner 9 years and over category,Murray placed first in fling, second in lilt, third in flora, and sixth in Seann Truibhas, earning the first runner-up trophy for her group. In the Novice 9 years and under category, Ainsley placed fourth in Seann Truibhas and fifth in flora. In the Novice 10 and 11 years, Eila placed second in flora. In the Novice 12 years and over, Fiona placed first in fling, third in lilt and fourth in flora. The next day, dancers went on to join their fellow classmates for Tartan Day performances, downtown Fergus. South of the border, at the Spartan Tartan Highland Dance Competition, Avaline Booth competed in the Novice 12 years and over category, placing second in sword, third in Seann Truibhas and lilt and fourth in lilt.
