Community News, Advertiser recognized by OCNA

NORTH WELLINGTON – The North Wellington Community News earned two third-place awards in the Ontario Community Newspaper Association’s Better Newspapers Competition.

The newspaper placed third in best creative ad, for a Home Hardware “Christmas Palooza” ad by Alicia Roza; and in best feature/unit pages, for a Family Day feature.

The Community News also earned honourable mentions for local retail layout (a Home Hardware Father’s Day ad) and best use of colour (a Drayton Freshmart ad), both by Alicia Roza.

Advertiser awards

The Wellington Advertiser, the  Community News’ sister publication, won first place for general excellence in its class, and the publications’ shared website, wellingtonadvertiser.com, won in the best community website category.

The Advertiser earned first place in an additional six categories, second place in five categories, and third place in three categories.

The annual awards recognize “outstanding work produced each week by [OCNA’s] member newspapers.”
