On Nov. 25 a Youth Dance and Limbo contest took place at the Harriston Legion from 7 to 10 pm with 140 youths attending.
The safe community committee thanked the sponsors for the event: The Harriston Tim Hortons, for sponsoring the hall rental, Harry Stones and Suzies Restaurants for donating prizes.
The committee will be holding further dances in 2012 at the Harriston Legion, due to the interest and great response.
The committee also thanked the Harriston Legion and the Harriston Kinsmen for sponsoring the hall rental in September and October.
The group will be looking for community and business support in sponsoring further events to cover the cost of the hall rental.
The Safe Community Committee is looking to bring the Road Watch Program to the Town of Minto.
These fundraising efforts will help finance the Road Watch Program licensing fee as well as signs required to advertise the program.
