Impaired driving

FERGUS - On March 1 at about 12:42am, Wellington County OPP officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver whose vehicle was stuck on a snowbank on St. Andrew Street here.

Police say officers spoke to the male driver and brought him to a local OPP station for testing.

Andrew Hubbard, 36, of Shelburne was charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood in his system. He is to appear in Guelph court on April 2.

CENTRE WELLINGTON - On March 1 at about 6:20am, Wellington County OPP officers responded to a report of a vehicle stuck on Noah Road, east of Elora.

“Officers arrived at the road closed sign and proceeded on foot towards the lodged vehicle,” police stated in a press release. “The driver was found revving the engine and spinning the tires in an attempt move the vehicle.”

Police say officers spoke to the male driver and brought him to a local OPP station for testing.

Russell Rennie, 33, of Mapleton, was charged with impaired driving and driving over 80mg. He is to appear in Guelph court on April 5.

GUELPH - On March 5 at about 7:10pm, Wellington County OPP officers responded to a two-vehicle rear-end collision on the Hanlon Expressway at Speedvale Avenue.

Police say officers spoke to the male driver and brought him to a local OPP station for testing.

John Lewis, 60, of Toronto, was charged with impaired driving and driving over 80mg. He is to appear in Guelph court on April 9.

NORTH PERTH - On March 8 at about 3:15am, North Perth OPP was called by a concerned citizen about a possible impaired driver.

Police say officers located the vehicle on Line 86, spoke to the male driver and transported him to the Listowel OPP station for testing.

David Jesso, 41, of Centre Wellington, was charged with impaired driving and driving over 80mg. He is to appear in Stratford court on March 25.

ERIN - On March 10 at about 12:30am, Wellington County OPP officers responded to a report of vehicle partially in the ditch with the male driver sleeping behind the wheel on 1st Line near Wellington Road 50.

Police say officers woke up the sleeping driver and transported him to a local OPP station for testing.

Kyle Flemmings, 30, of Pickering, was charged with driving while impaired by drug. He is to appear in Guelph court on April 9.

In the above incidents the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
