Teasha Hurdle to receive scholarship

ROCKWOOD - Teasha Hurdle of Rockwood will receive a $5,000 Horatio Alger Canadian Scholarship to support her university education.

The Horatio Alger Association of Canada, a charitable organization, recently awarded 170 need-based scholarships to high school students.

Hurdle is an Ontario Scholar from Guelph Collegiate and Vocational Institute.

The scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate strength of character, strong academics, a commitment to pursuing higher education and a desire to contribute to society.
