Victim, friend follow thieves; vehicle rammed by stolen truck

PUSLINCH - A victim and a friend tried to follow thieves that took his truck but were forced to abandon the pursuit when their vehicle was rammed by the stolen truck.

On Feb. 6 just before 6am Wellington County Ontario OPP were informed that a vehicle had just been stolen from a parking lot on Nicholas Beaver Road in Puslinch Township.

Police say the complainant saw his vehicle, a 1998 white Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck (plate number AV48948), leave the parking lot, followed by a black Escalade SUV.

“The complainant and a friend followed behind the stolen truck in his friend’s vehicle,” police stated in a press release.

“While travelling down the road the stolen pick-up stopped suddenly and reversed at a high rate of speed towards the victim and his friend.

“The driver attempted to turn his car and accelerate away to avoid the collision however, his vehicle was struck on the driver’s side door and C-pillar causing extensive damage.”

The men ended their pursuit of the stolen truck, which was last seen travelling west on McLean Road.
