Sensational pumpkins

Huge crowds invaded Bissell Park in Elora on Oct. 6 to see the young and old carve pumpkins to support the Centre Wellington Food Bank during Sensational Pumpkin Day. Sensational Elora chair Kirk McElwain and event chair Patricia Brown both called this year’s event “a great day for Sensational Elora”. About 40 pumpkins were carved and judged at the event, which included pumpkin flavoured ice cream, a reptile zoo and entertainment. Twenty eight students from Japan and Korea, who are taking a course in English as a second language at the University of Guelph, attended the event.
