HARRISTON – Theatre-goers will find laughs, mystery, romance and more in the Grey Wellington Theatre Guild’s spring production – Two Witches, No Waiting.
Action in the Pat Cook contemporary comedy, set to hit the boards in early May, revolves around two middle-aged sisters who share a home in a small Texas town. They’re known to be a little eccentric, but could they actually be witches? That’s what some say.
The plot brews up a cauldron of twists and turns as a missing person case draws local law enforcement to the sisters’ home, which a relative is pushing them to sell for reasons of his own.
Minto resident Kelly Lenselink, who is co-directing the production with Megan Raftis of Harriston says the multi-faceted plot contains a variety of theatrical elements.
“There’s some romance in there. There’s some mystery, your quirky small town characters. It’s a comedy with some heartwarming moments,” she said.
Lenselink says the cast, a mixture of guild veterans and newcomers to the local stage, have been “fantastic,” through the months of rehearsal leading up to the production.
“They have been an amazing group to work with. They are so dedicated, so talented, and eager to put on a great show,” she stated.
The cast includes: Harriston residents Erin Raftis and Shayne Coffin, Scott Neal and Caroline Wollis of Mount Forest, Briar Chmatil of Listowel, Jason Rohrback of Ayton, Jennifer Creamer of Drayton and Amy Sjaarda, of Minto.
Two Witches, No Waiting runs May 5, 6, 12 and 13 at 7:30pm and May 7 and 14 at 2pm at the fully accessible Harriston Town Hall Theatre, 68, Elora Street South, Harriston.
