I can still remember the day the Elora Brewing Company opened. It was a big deal for Centre Wellington and it was an even bigger deal for Elora.
Just this past weekend I was at Waterloo Region Taco Fest in Kitchener and low and behold, EBC was one of the craft brewers on hand for the festivities.
They’ve done good. Whenever I see the EBC logo it immediately feels homey and familiar.
On Monday the federal and provincial government announced $1 million in funding for Ontario Craft Breweries.
Now not all breweries in Ontario received a cut of this funding but the Elora Brewing Company prevailed.
The $62,903 in funding will go towards the tools necessary to help in the development of a new product and to improve the production facility.
I, for one, can’t wait to see what’s next for the Elora Brewing Company.
I’m just waiting to see them when I’m abroad and feel that familiarity of home.

It should be noted that Four Fathers Brewing Company Ltd. also received funding through the Ontario Craft Breweries funding.
Though now located in Hespeler Village, the brewery began in Rockwood with four Wellington County fathers.
The brewery received $9,599 for a brew clean system to manage the wastewater stream.
