Co-operators raise $208,767 for United Way

The Co-operators announced recently it has raised $208,767 for United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin.

Guelph-based staff members donated $161,167 during a national campaign through pledges and creative fundraising events, while the Co-operators Foundation contributed $50 for each full-time employee, totalling $47,600.

Particularly successful locally was a staff-organized silent auction featuring items donated by local businesses, which raised more than $3,000.

“Making a considerable contribution in the communities where we live and work is at the core of who we are as a Canadian co-operative,” said Kathy Bardswick, president and CEO of The Co-operators.

The United Way provides funding to member agencies.
