CLIFFORD – Thanks to about 60 volunteers from Clifford and the surrounding community, 1,000 white spruce, Norway spruce and tamarack seedlings were planted in fields by the trail near the wastewater treatment facility in Clifford on May 11.
Minto Mayor Dave Turton, who lent a helping hand planting trees, said, “Minto volunteers are the best. Planting these trees helps the community, the trail and the environment.”
Clifford Rotary, the Clifford and District Horticultural Society, Town of Minto and Clifford residents worked together to set up the tree planting.
The seedlings were donated by the Green Legacy Program and door prizes were donated by local businesses.
