Classmate creates Coins for Sheyanne fundraiser

On April 20, Rachel Smyth will receive the first significant hair cut of her life.

The 11-year-old Kenilworth resident has decided to donate her hair to Locks of Love.

That same day Smyth is planning a charitable event at her school to help Sheyanne O’Donnell, a classmate diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer.

“Coins for Sheyanne” encourages teachers, students and staff to donate loose change.

On April 23, Smyth will help Miss Mid West Queen Emily Burgess  spread the collected coins on the gym floor and spell Sheyanne’s name.  These coins will then be rolled and given to O’Donnell to help her family with her medical  expenses.
