Heritage Centre Wellington is contemplating a citizen request for a heritage designation of Elora’s Ross Street.
On March 27, Centre Wellington councillor Don Fisher stated the recent Heritage Centre Wellington meeting was fairly productive.
Items on the table included the Craighead property in Fergus and the Belwood School House.
“Also they are looking into a citizen request for the potential (heritage) designation of Ross Street in Elora.”
A considerable portion of Ross Street is now owned by Pearle Hospitality on lands slated for the southside development of the Elora Mill.
Fisher noted the meeting also included discussion with managing director of infrastructure services Colin Baker about heritage aspects impacted by work being done by the township – specifically reconstruction work on Colborne Street.
