CENTRE WELLINGTON – A local man faces six charges in relation to the sexual assault of a minor in several incidents over the last nine months.
On June 14, Wellington County OPP officials announced police have laid charges following an investigation that began earlier this month.
“The incidents occurred between September 2023 and June 2024 at a home in Centre Wellington,” police stated in a press release.
A 30-year-old man from Centre Wellington was charged with:
- three counts of sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age;
- two counts of sexual interference; and
- invitation to sexual touching with a person under 16.
The man was held for a bail hearing.
OPP spokesperson Josh Cunningham told the Advertiser the accused is not being identified in order to protect the identity of the victim.
