Centre Wellington gearing up for Canada Day

It will be traditional Dominion Day in Elora sponsored by the Rotary Club of Centre Wellington.

Elora Events

The firefighters’ breakfast at MacDonald Square runs from 7 to 11am.

Meanwhile, the soap box derby along Geddes Street (beginning at David Street) runs from 8 to 11am. This event is sponsored by Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Centre Wellington.

At 11am, the Dominion Day Parade commences through downtown Elora to Bissell Park. The parade is coordinated by Centre Wellington Rotary.

Lunch is at Bissell Park from noon to 1:30pm with a free hot dog and beverage served by the Elora Lions.

There will be live music, kids activities, a Diamond in the Ruff dog agility show and the Blue Bonnett Lassies School of Highland Dancing.

Finally, at 1:30pm get set for the Centre Wellington Rotary duck race.

Fergus Events

Switching venues over to the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex, the Fergus Canada Day picnic is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Fergus Elora.

The event runs from 5 to 10pm.

There will be live entertainment, free face painting, free cake, lots of food and children's contests.

The night is capped off with fireworks starting  around 10pm. Proceeds to the new Groves Hospital building fund.
