CENTRE WELLINGTON – In line with other municipalities in Wellington County extending current shutdowns in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Centre Wellington township has decided to extend facility closures to May 3.
The closure extension includes the CW Community Sportsplex in Fergus, Belwood Hall, Elora Community Centre, the Victoria Park Seniors Centre in Fergus, Elora Fergus Tourism office, and the Fergus Grand Theatre.
“We will continue to monitor and update our information based on direction from the provincial government and Wellington-Dufferin Guelph Public Health,” the township states in a March 31 press release.
The township has announced policies regarding refunds and for an assortment of municipal programs. Information can be found at centrewellington.ca under News and Notices.

To comply with a new provincial directive, the Centre Wellington has closed all outdoor recreational amenities including playgrounds, sports fields, basketball and tennis courts, off-leash dog parks, skateparks, picnic areas, park shelters, and other outdoor recreational amenities.
Green spaces in parks and trails will remain open, but individuals must maintain the safe physical distance.
