The Awards of Excellence gala wouldn’t be possible without the support from sponsors, organizers note.

Once again, OLG has signed on as the title sponsor for the gala.

Over the last 17 years the event has evolved, but the real reason behind the gathering is to thank all the individuals who give back so generously to the community.

Awards of Excellence adjudication chair Karen Welch said, “Thank you to the community members and nominators who showed fabulous support in nominating such excellent businesses, organizations and individuals. The efforts and time taken to complete forms, letters and/or photos are greatly appreciated. Organizers also extend a heartfelt thanks to the community panel of adjudicators who will now face the daunting task of selecting the winners from this array of nominees. There will be passionate debate in many of the categories.”

The gala will be held on May 16 at the Fergus Grand Theatre.

Tickets are $70 and can be purchased at Scotiabank in Fergus.

The event starts at 6:30pm with food and entertainment followed by the awards ceremony at 8pm.

The theme this year is “Grand Masquerade – Centre Wellington” – guests are invited to dress according to the theme or, if they prefer, business attire.
