CENTRE WELLINGTON – It’s Seniors Month and the theme this year is staying safe, active and connected during the pandemic.
For a second year running, safety concerns over the COVID-19 virus have prevented in-person activities, but the township is taking things virtual.
“Although the COVID-19 pandemic has kept us from seeing our seniors face-to-face, I am very proud of our staff who have found innovative ways to celebrate their positive impact on our lives,” Mayor Kelly Linton was quoted as saying in a press release.
“I hope our seniors know that we are here for them during these times, and hopefully very soon we will see their smiling faces in person at the Victoria Park Senior Centre,” Linton added.
To celebrate the occasion, the township is partnering with four other Ontario senior centres for one remaining event this month,.
