CENTRE WELLINGTON – June is seniors’ month, a time to celebrate seniors and recognize the contributions they have made in the community and the lives they have impacted.
Centre Wellington is rich in the senior population, and this month is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating them.
“Our seniors deserve to be honoured for the involvement and impact that they make in our community and the Victoria Park Senior Centre,” said Kathryn Morgan, supervisor of senior services.
“Our seniors are true role models. Every day they teach us something new. They continue to impact our community in so many ways, from volunteering, to their ongoing leadership and dedication to being good citizens. Our seniors make Centre Wellington a better place to live.”
The government’s theme this year for seniors’ month is “Aging Strong: Respect and Protect Seniors. Aging is about living and everyone should be able to age strong, in an Ontario that is open to all.”
The theme represents the importance of seniors’ valued experience and independence as they age, while celebrating their many contributions in building this province, and protecting what matters most to them.
The Ontario government is currently accepting nominations for the Ontario Senior Achievement Award.
