The Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce will host two all candidate meetings for the upcoming municipal election.
The first meeting is on Sept. 13 at the Elora Legion Branch 229 and the next is on Sept. 18 at the Fergus Legion Branch 275.
At each session, doors open at 6:30pm with formal sessions between 7 and 9pm.
Invited to the Elora meeting are candidates for township wards 1 and 2, while the Fergus meeting will feature candidates for township wards 3, 4, 5 and 6.
Both meetings will also include mayoral, county wards 4, 5 and 6, and school trustee candidates for both English and French public and separate boards.
Due to the large number of potential candidates, the chamber will only accept written questions, which can be directed to up to two candidates.
Questions can be sent ahead of time to chamber@cwchamber.ca or brought to the meeting. Paper and pens will be available at the meetings.
If there are similar questions they will be blended together to allow time for more questions.
Unanswered questions will be sent to the candidates by email after the meeting.
Those wishing a direct response can provide an email or phone number on the question sheet – and that information will be sent to the candidates to respond.
Township staff will also be available to help with any questions about the election, including the voters list, voting method, etc.
