Centre Wellington 4-H work with wood

The first meeting of the Centre Wellington Lumberjacks, a 4-H woodworking club, was held on Feb. 25 at the Wing home.

Members reviewed safety procedures before choosing and getting started on their project that will be donated for the upcoming 4-H Beef Barbecue and Auction on April 1.

The second meeting of the Centre Wellington Lumberjacks was held at Fraser’s home on March 25.

Members worked on finishing their wooden, garden stepping stones to put in the silent auction at the 4-H Beef Barbecue and Auction.

Members learned how to use both a palm sander and belt sander. To finish the stones, linseed oil was applied.

The next meeting will be held on April 8.
