Officials with the Centre Wellington Community Energy Plan (CEP) are inviting businesses, residents and community organizations to think about how they want to generate, conserve and distribute energy in the community.
They are hoping locals will provide their input on the CEP at a “round table’ meeting on Oct. 23 from 7 to 9pm at the OPP boardroom in Aboyne to add your input to the plan.
Topics to be addressed by the CEP, an initiative being led by the Elora Centre for the Environment, include the electrical and heating needs of business, residents and local municipal governments.
Officials say they are especially interested in thoughts from business owners because stable energy costs are key to building a business-friendly community. At the Oct. 23 meeting officials would like to hear thoughts on what a CEP could mean to local businesses and the community.
They will also discuss available programs in the region that offer money-saving ideas.
Anyone interested in attending is asked to RSVP to 519-846-0841 or toll free to 1-866-865-7337 or to kmcfadyen@eloraenvironmentcentre.ca. For information visit www.centrewellingtoncep.ca.
