CBC celebrity doing show for food bank

Marcia Williams, the host of CBC Radio’s The World This Hour, a News program connecting Canadians to the world, is teaming up with Centre Wellington Mayor Joanne Ross-Zuj, Michael Counsell of the Centre Wellington Food Bank, and other community members to present a dramatic reading of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
The reading will take place at Bethany United Church on Dec. 20 at 7pm.
Thousands of Canadians from coast to coast have enjoyed CBC Radio-supported readings of A Christmas Carol since 1990.
All across Canada, readers, musicians, choir members, and hardworking people who believe in the common good, have presented the story to help other people in their community.
Proceeds from this event will be directed to the Centre Wellington Food Bank.
In the spirit of Jacob Marley, the citizens of Centre Wellington can make “mankind its business” by attending.  It will be a reading in a traditional country setting.
Bethany United Church is located 7km south of Elora at the corner of 4th Line East and Sideroad 10 in Centre Wellington Township.
Tickets are $15 each and are available at Little KaTy’s in Elora, Ron Wilkin’s in Fergus, or by calling Elora United Church at 519-846-0122.
