GUELPH – Wellington Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) chair, Marino Gazzola delivered his inaugural address at the regular meeting of the board of trustees on Jan. 13.
Gazzola has served as a trustee with the WCDSB for over 30 years and held positions both provincially and nationally during his tenure.
Highlighting the relevance and inclusive nature of Catholic education was a strong theme throughout Gazzola’s address.
He spoke to the collaborative efforts and commitment of staff that prepare students for their future.
Speaking to fellow trustees, Gazzola emphasized, “The compassion, and commitment that my fellow trustees have is unmistakable. Decisions are made with the best interest of the students in mind, and the decisions are made together.”
Gazzola acknowledged the important role that all staff play in ensuring students’ success and expressed gratitude for their extraordinary work.
The address ended with Gazzola being presented with a new gavel and accepting congratulations from fellow trustees and the administrative team.
