Alexa Klapwyk takes on a Guelph Gryphon defender at the soccer complex in Guelph. The Fergus Elora District Soccer Club had three rep teams playing at the First on the Turf tournament in Guelph recently. The regular season for rep teams starts May 13.
Elora Fergus Edge Ringette Fun 3 White (Halls) team wins silver in Kitchener tournament
Silver medals – Elora Fergus Edge Ringette players participated in the Western Region Ringette Championships in Kitchener from April 14 to 16. The Fun 3 White (Halls) team won silver after a overtime loss 7-6 against the Kitchener Wildcats in the final.
Tough loss for Elora Fergus Edge Ringette U12 team
Tough loss – Elora Fergus Edge Ringette players participated in the Western Region Ringette Championships in Kitchener from April 14 to 16. The U12 team was going for bronze but lost in an action packed 6-5 loss in overtime to Exeter-Seaforth.
Grand River Raceway track expansion to proceed this fall
ELORA – Work is expected to begin this fall on a multi-million dollar project to expand the track at the Grand River Raceway here. Officials announced on April 26 the raceway is moving ahead with longstanding plans to transform the current half-mile oval into a 5/8-mile track.
