ERIN – Andrea Danchuk, a grade eight student from Erin Public School, has been selected for the U16 Ontario West women’s flag football team.

WELLINGTON NORTH – Alyssa Culp never thought she would be pounding the pavement in the Boston Marathon, let alone that the milestone event would mark the Wellington North resident’s seventh marathon.

FERGUS – When he successfully lifted 442 pounds at the HackenDinnie Classic in Kentucky on June 7, Chris Frappier beat the existing world record for his weight and age. 

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Every time the Guelph Storm hockey team scored a power play goal during the 2022-23 season, Arthur Electric committed to donating $150 to East Wellington Community Services (EWCS).

ARISS — Portage Ontario and Richard Van Dyke with the Cooperators presented the third annual “Freedom from Addiction Golf Classic: A Day of Golf with a Purpose” on June 12 at Ariss Valley Golf and Country Club.

MOOREFIELD – The Moorefield Athletic Association recognized a century of making the community the local destination for a good, old-fashioned ball game.

MAPLETON – A local youth has just achieved the top honour in high school track and field.   Mapleton resident Joel Rumph won the gold medal in Junior boys high jump at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) championships in Ottawa on June 9.   

Special Olympics athletes Jennifer Allen and Marc Richardson are representing Team Canada in the 2023 World Games in Berlin, Germany.

CENTRE WELLINGTON - The Centre Wellington Shuffleboard Club held a successful Ontario Shuffleboard Association Tournament with people attending from all over Ontario.
