ARTHUR  – Keira Healey from Arthur played with Team Ontario Red and won gold in the Canadian Junior Hockey Nationals in early November.

FERGUS – The Bears (Cheerleading) of Fergus travelled to Sandusky, Ohio on Nov. 18 and 19 to compete in the All Star Challenge: Queen of the Nile acrobatics competition.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Myrna Bilton, president of the International Shuffleboard Association inducted Norm Lindsay, president of the Canadian National Shuffleboard Association into the International Suffleboard Hall of Fame.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Rich Wigmore and Cassie Silverthorn played for the Great Britain Heritage Team at the World Ball and Dek Hockey Federation (WBDHF) 4 on 4 World Championships, bringing home gold and silver medals.

PALMERSTON - On Nov. 18, the Montreal Canadiens Alumni team came to the Palmerston and District Community Centre Complex.

GUELPH – Students in Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute's (GCVI) learning resource class had the opportunity to play hockey with Guelph Storm players on Nov. 13.

GUELPH – The Centre Wellington District High School junior boys volleyball team played in the D10 final on Nov. 13.

GUELPH – Coached by lifetime local residents and World Champions Nathan and Sophie Skoufis, students from Guelph Family Martial Arts returned from the Regional Martial Arts Championships.

MOUNT FOREST – The Wellington Heights Wolverines Jr. Boys Soccer team, coached by Matt McFarlane, had an exciting season this year and captured the District 4 Championship title.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Siblings Hannah and Ethan Wright from Elora recently travelled to Orlando, Florida to compete at the World Karate Commission World Championships Oct. 23 to 27.

PALMERSTON – Calling all Habs fans! 

CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Oct. 17 hundreds of students participated in a cross country meet.

HALTON – Of 2,200 athletes who attended qualifier events to compete for a spot on Team Canada, Cole Dempster is one of the 100 chosen to participate in the national final. 

BELWOOD – Local athlete Emma Mason will be playing for Team Canada’s ringette team in the World Championships next week. The 17-year-old has been playing ringette for nearly 14 years, many of those spent with the Elora Fergus Ringette Association.

ELORA – On Oct. 5 at 6pm at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex, children from the Fun1 league of the Elora Fergus Edge Ringette Association received their new jerseys for the season.
