GUELPH – After nearly a year of review, it’s official: police officers will no longer patrol the halls in Upper Grand schools. In a unanimous vote, Upper Grand District School Board trustees passed a motion on April 27 to remove the School Resource Officer (SRO) program from all schools.

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Two suspects are in custody but police are still searching for a gun used in an early morning break-in here.

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Local police have discovered human remains here in a wooded area near Wellington Road 30, just north of Guelph. "Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety," police stated.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Now that random stops are off the table, OPP officers will focus on businesses and restaurants, complaints from the public and unlawful public gatherings. 

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Guelph Police officials say Guelph officers will not conduct random vehicle or person stops despite having newly-granted powers to do so. However, it remains a little more unclear what the plan is for OPP officers in Wellington County – or across the province for that matter. 

PALMERSTON - No one was injured when a vehicle crashed into the front of the Foodland grocery store on Main Street in Palmerston at around noon on April 14. “Everybody was safe. No customers were hurt,” Foodland owner Ron McTaggert told the Advertiser shortly after the incident.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Wellington County OPP officials say officers conducted a "targeted traffic safety enforcement initiative" in the township on April 7.

DRAYTON – Police are looking for help to identify two people who stole power tools from a business here.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – From April 2 to 5, Wellington County OPP officers took part in a province-wide seatbelt campaign.
