ERIN - Wellington County OPP responded to a collision on Trafalgar Road at Sideroad 17, south of Hillsburgh on Dec. 11.

FERGUS – Police officials say no one will be charged in connection with a recent threat to "shoot up" Centre Wellington District High School (CWDHS) here.

WELLINGTON NORTH – Wellington County OPP here have identified the driver involved in a fatal single-vehicle collision as 22-year-old Meagan Janelle Byers of Mount Forest and are continuing to investigate what led to the collision.

WELLINGTON NORTH – One person is dead after a vehicle left the road, flipped over and came to rest in a body of water here on Monday.

WELLINGTON NORTH – Two people have been charged in an incident here involving the theft of a vehicle and assault of its owner.

ORILLIA – OPP officials say tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and pesticide analysis  of illegal cannabis shows consumers should break ties with their “dealer” and switch to legal products.

FERGUS – There was an "increased police presence" at Centre Wellington District High School (CWDHS) the morning of Dec. 2 after a serious threat of violence against the school and its students was made online the previous evening.

HILLSBURGH – Two local residents face a number of firearm charges after police seized close to 30 guns from a home here.

MOUNT FOREST – Residents of an Egremont Street building have been advised they can return home after they were evacuated on Nov. 25 when a suspicious package was discovered in the building.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Wellington OPP inspector Paul Richardson says enhanced traffic enforcement can be anticipated for speeders on Queen Street South in Palmerston.

PALMERSTON – The OPP is investigating a fire that destroyed a building on Norman Street here on Monday but both police and Minto Fire officials remain tightlipped about whether or not the blaze could be linked to a previous incident at the site two days earlier.

ORILLIA – The OPP is selling a 2022 Canine Unit calendar benefitting two of its associated charities.
