WELLINGTON COUNTY – Serious crime is down across the board in the county, according to a year-end Wellington OPP report presented to the Police Services Board on Feb. 9.

FERGUS – Police are looking for clues, including video surveillance, that could help apprehend the person(s) responsible for firing bullets at a house here on Tuesday.

MOUNT FOREST – A local man has been charged with arson in connection with a suspicious house fire here last year.

GUELPH-ERAMOSA – Police have arrested and charged a suspect in the theft of a tractor trailer load worth $300,000 from a business here four months ago.

GUELPH – On Feb. 1, Wellington County OPP concluded an investigation and seized a quantity of illicit drugs and currency in the City of Guelph, police stated in a Feb. 4 press release.

MINTO – Police have charged a Palmerston woman with arson in connection with two fires on White's Junction Trail here.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Wellington County OPP say they received a report on Jan. 25 about a local resident being blackmailed by someone threatening to share intimate images of them with others.

MOUNT FOREST – Police are urging local homeowners to take precautions after receiving 11 reports over the past two months of break-ins at homes in the Mount Forest area.

MOUNT FOREST – Three people are facing serious criminal charges after being found by Wellington OPP officers with a grey pickup truck police say they believed to be stolen.

ROCKWOOD – A resident here has been arrested and charged following an investigation into online child sexual exploitation.

BELWOOD – The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating after a 21-year-old man suffered serious injuries in a snowmobile crash near Belwood Lake.
