WELLINGTON COUNTY – Just 11 days into the official campaign for the municipal election, police have already received reports of "tampering" with election signs.

FERGUS – Local police are asking vehicle and home owners to take precautions after the theft of four pickup trucks in Fergus over the weekend. Wellington County OPP officials say the trucks, all 2021 or 2022 Dodge Ram 1500s, were stolen from homes on Aug. 28 between 4 and 5am.

MINTO - A 16-year-old Harriston youth is dead after a single-vehicle collision in Palmerston on the night of Aug. 26.

PUSLINCH – A Listowel man has been charged with sexual luring of a minor here. Wellington County OPP announced on Aug. 18 the charge relates to an investigation started earlier in the month.

FERGUS – An 18-year-old Fergus resident has been charged with arson in connection with a suspicious fire here earlier this month.

PUSLINCH – A Cambridge man has been charged with sexual luring involving a victim under the age of 16.

FERGUS – An Elora man faces 11 charges stemming from a shooting six months ago, when bullets ripped into a Fergus home in the middle of the night.

MINTO – An OPP officer with just one year on the job has been charged following a collision here involving two police vehicles.

NORTH PERTH – A Palmerston man is dead following a two-vehicle collision here on Monday. Perth County OPP officials say emergency crews responded to the crash on Line 91, west of Perth Road 140, on Aug. 15 at around 11:45am.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – A portion of Highway 6 south of Fergus was closed on Wednesday after a two-vehicle crash left one driver seriously injured.
