GUELPH – The Guelph Humane Society raised $62,314 to support care for vulnerable animals in Guelph and Wellington County during its second annual Happy Trails Walk-a-thon on July 2, with  246 walkers and 80 dogs showing up.

ELORA – The second annual Craft Gin Festival was held at the Elora Centre for the Arts on June 8 and it was well-attended for an overcast day.

MOUNT FOREST – A large number of emergency department closures province-wide has prompted the Ontario Health Coalition to schedule a series of public hearings to allow people to voice concerns about the state of health care in the province.

ELORA – Centre Wellington council agreed to a new delivery method when it awarded the contract to design and build a new operations centre to Ball Construction Ltd. on June 10.
