WELLINGTON COUNTY –  As the warming climate changes local weather conditions, horses in Wellington County are facing different viruses and infections than they did in the past.  

LISTOWEL – The Listowel Agricultural Society donated $10,000 to the Palmerston MRI+ campaign on April 22 at the Listowel Agricultural Hall.

GUELPH – Over the last few months, each and every student from kindergarten through Grade 8 in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Guelph pulled out their paint brush to contribute to a brand new art installation. 

HARRISTON – Michael Van Huisseling, an environmental educator with Solid Waste Services at the County of Wellington, was a speaker at the Harriston and District Horticultural Society’s meeting on April 17.

ELORA – Tree Trust, under the leadership of Toni Ellis, held an Earth Day outing on April 22 in Elora’s Victoria Park.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – On a wintry April 20, volunteers from Neighbourwoods gathered to plant trees along the Trestle Bridge Trail from Fergus to Elora.

GUELPH – Helping people know what to do when an injury causes life-threatening bleeding is the focus of the Stop the Bleed Program through Guelph General Hospital.

HARRISTON – The Meiklejohn Bonspiel has long been a highlight of the Harriston Curling Club season.

FERGUS – The drama club at Centre Wellington District High School presented an original play called In the Bleachers at the Fergus Grand Theatre on April 20 and it was mayhem.
