Centre Wellington – Mavis Productions from Toronto presented The Little Mermaid the Musical to a nearly sold out audience for all five performances at the Fergus Grand Theatre Oct. 5 and 6.

ERIN – Locals showed off their “Country Routes and Rubber Boots” at the Erin Fall Fair over the Thanksgiving weekend, with people travelling from near and far to check out the wide range of entertainment offered by the Erin Agricultural Society. 

HARRISTON – A local realism artist is being recognized for her talents in the 17th International Art Renewal Centre (ARC) Salon Competition based in New York. 

FERGUS – Terri-Lynne Rade gave up a career in health care and will soon find herself on the runway of Startup Fashion Week – or at least the vegan leather handbags she designed will be modelled on the runway.

ABOYNE – Sensational Elora's annual Pumpkin Day moved to the Wellington County Museum and Archives this year, bringing pumpkins, dancing, drumming, storytelling, snakes and more to Aboyne on Oct. 12. 

GUELPH – The boys are back in town—the boys being The Legendary Downchild Blues Band, of course. This time, sadly, will be their last. 

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Artists throughout Fergus and Elora opened their studios to the public for the second weekend in a row on Oct. 5 and 6 during the Elora Fergus Studio Tour, part of Culture Days activities in Centre Wellington.

FERGUS – Kasandra Coleman writes colourful picture books with bright messages: lessons of inclusion, friendship and celebrating people’s differences. 

ELORA – Ian Evans thought he was on to something special last year when he launched the first Elora Adventure Film Festival. This year he’s certain of it.

ELORA – Hundreds of people came out to the Elora Centre for the Arts on Oct. 5 to enjoy the music, food,  drinks and more during the Concert with Addy-tude, but they were also supporting an important cause – sarcoma research at SickKids Hospital.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Participants from the supportive arts program joined Centre Wellington Mayor Shawn Watters and Elora Centre for the Arts board members, volunteers and staff at the official groundbreaking for a new 3,500-square-foot addition to the facility on Oct. 24.

ELORA – Encaustic and mixed media artist Nancy Ariss, discusses her art with a guest in Elora during the 2024 Elora Fergus Studio Tour on Sept. 29.
