FERGUS – Two young Wellington athletes represented Ontario last month in Canada's first National Lacross Champtionship for U13 girls

ARTHUR – Four pets died but no people were injured in an apartment fire here on Thursday afternoon. The Smith Street building houses Erni's Place restaurant on the main floor and apartment buildings in the basement.

MOOREFIELD – Fourteen co-ed baseball teams participated in the second annual Chris Bults Memorial Baseball Tournament in Moorefield on Aug. 26.

MOUNT FOREST – The winners of the 19th annual Harry Bye Cancer Patient Services Golf tournament at Pike Lake Golf Centre on Aug. 2 was a team from The Cooperators.

DRAYTON – Sporting bright white T-shirts, a determined group of 55 Norwell Dairy employees and their families completed a 4km walk around Drayton on Aug. 17 to raise funds to fight cancer.

PALMERSTON- Senior ambassador Peyton McBeth and junior ambassador Hailey Schneider were kept busy at the Palmerston Agricultural Fair last weekend.

HARRISTON- This 1958 Ford Edsel Corsair, owned by Vic Lewick of Toronto, was among the vehicles on display at the Leslie Motors Classic Ford Show, held in conjunction with the Harriston Street Party on Aug. 12. 

ARTHUR- A pedal tractor pull was part of the fun for youngsters at the 2022 Arthur Fall Fair. The 2023 fair is set to take place from Sept. 8 to 10 with the theme Tractors and Tailgates.
