LONDON – The Western Ontario Wardens’ Caucus (WOWC) continued to build on its meaningful and critical partnerships with representatives of the province during the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) 2023 Conference from Aug. 20 to 23, WOWC officials state.

MINTO – In July, Countryside Midwifery Services moved its office from Palmerston to the Lions Medical Building in Harriston, where it was able to set up a private room with a birth suite.

MINTO — The Harriston and District Horticultural Society held its summer flower show on Aug. 15 at the Harriston Community Centre with over 130 entries of flowers and vegetables.  

WELLINGTON NORTH – This September and October, Ontario is celebrating the Culture Days Festival, an annual celebration of arts, culture and heritage.

HARRISTON – The 164th Harriston-Minto Fall Fair is set to take place Sept. 15 to 17.

MOUNT FOREST — Wellington Guelph Drug Strategy held a drug poisoning awareness day event on Aug. 24 at the corner of King and Main Streets in Mount Forest.

CLIFFORD – Gladiolus, sunflowers, roses, potted plants, as well as fruits and vegetables from local gardens were showed and judged at the Clifford and District Horticulture Flower and Edibles Show on Aug. 22.

PALMERSTON – On July 19, the Mary Lynne Forrest Memorial Golf Tournament held its 19th annual golf event at the Pike Lake Golf Centre.

ALMA – The Alma Community Centre parking lot was overflowing with classic cars and trucks on Aug. 26 for a car show hosted by the Alma Optimist Club.

KENILWORTH – The chair of the Mount Forest Business Improvement Association (BIA) has taken the association’s grievances about the old tea room building, at 178 Main Street, to the township.

MOUNT FOREST – For the third time this summer, the emergency department at Louise Marshall Hospital here will temporarily close this weekend. The closure will take place between Sept. 9 at 5am and Sept. 10 at 7am.
