County Councillor Carl Hall was honoured by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing recently for his 25 years of municipal government experience.
At the annual Ontario West Municipal Conference banquet, Hall was presented with a celebratory pin.
Members of Wellington County council and staff were in attendance to celebrate this political milestone.
“It has been an honour to serve the residents of Wellington County,” said Hall. “After 25 years in municipal politics, I have decided to retire. I have many fond memories serving on county council and on my local council. I’d like to thank my family, Wellington County council and staff for their support.”
Some of Hall’s political career highlights include: being elected warden for the County of Wellington in 2002, serving on the board of directors for the 2000 International Plowing Match, chairing the county roads committee, which was responsible for the replacement of the Glen Allan and Irvine River Bridges, and helping plant the County’s one millionth tree under the Green Legacy Program.
“On behalf of county council and staff, I’d like to congratulate councillor Carl Hall for his hard work, dedication and commitment to serving the residents of the County of Wellington for over 25 years,” said former warden Joanne Ros-Zuj. “It has been a pleasure working with Carl. He will be missed around the Council horseshoe.”
