When General Motors decided to drop its two franchised dealerships in Centre Wellington, the council was upset about that move, and concerned for local customers.
Mayor Joanne Ross-Zuj said the move would affect many people, and council authorized a letter of concern to the company.
She said Oct. 5 that she received a response that day, and the company is assuring customers service will be available.
She said the company stated it will contact General Motors customers directly about how to obtain service for their vehicles.
“People in the service business will be contacted directly,” she said, adding, “They are considering our concerns.”
