Shared Moments, Finding the Spirit of Hope is a book that explores a family’s moments of healing and inspiration in the years following the loss of their 9 year old child.
Bereaved mother and author Carol Poduch, charted a course to hope and healing while sharing the family’s experiences.
The book was published locally and was such a success it was eventually picked up on a broader scale.
It quickly became apparent the bereaved, and their supporters but also the non-bereaved felt uplifted while hearing tales of young Lauren.
On Jan. 27 at 7:30pm; the Canadian play So Many Doors will be performed at Centre in the Square. The play is a gripping look at the loss of a child and the grieving process. It opens with four characters sitting in a support group for grieving parents.
Though once inseparable friends, an old rift has ruptured their friendship. The deaths of their children have brought them back together.
Poduch will be at centre to talk with, or have a book signed before the performance and during intermission.
The book will also be available for sale. Part of the proceeds from the book sales are being donated to Bereaved Families, who will also be on site for the evening, to help them to continue to help those in need in Waterloo Region.
Jamie Grant, general manager at Centre in the Square said, “The connection between the stories is so strong, even though the two media are different.
“It is a tough subject to tackle but both do it with dignity and in the end we are left feeling inspired and hopeful”
So Many Doors runs Jan. 27 at 7:30pm. The performance is part of the Centre In The Square’s great Canadian play series.
