Canadian Icons The Philosopher Kings to perform at Inspiration Guelph fundraiser

After a 10-year hiatus, The Philosopher Kings bring their signature high energy performance style to the sixth annual Inspiration Guelph fundraiser on Nov. 8 at 7pm at River Run Centre.

The Juno-award winning band promises to entertain and inspire with some of their old favourites and new songs.

Other performers at this family-friendly event include all-stars from Cheer On Bears Cheerleading; Jam School students; and St. John’s Kilmarnock Elementary Band.

Proceeds go to The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington Free to Play Program.

Tickets are $50 and are available at www.riverrun.ca.

“We’re excited to have recently-reunited The Philosopher Kings join us for this year’s event. Inspiration features seasoned performers along with local up and coming talent and this year’s lineup is exceptional,” said Inspiration founder Brenda Gibson.

“To date we’ve raised more than $120,000 for the foundation. These funds have helped put many young people on their path of pursuing or growing their interest in the arts.”

“Inspiration fits well within our mandate of the Free to Play program,” said Glenna Banda, executive director of the Children’s Foundation. “The intent of the program is to provide financial assistance for kids seeking to learn or enhance their skills in music, dance, or visual art. At Inspiration we experience a wide variety of performances and they truly inspire many young people to explore their creative side. To date more than 500 children and youth have been able to attend arts programs thanks to funds raised at Inspiration.”

Inspiration 2018 features more than 150 performers across many genres, including dance, music and cheerleading, showcasing their talent. The evening also includes a silent auction.

Tickets are on sale now for this one-night only event at www.riverrun.ca or by calling 519-763-3000.

There’s also an opportunity for community members to help send those less fortunate to the event – details are at www.inspirationguelph.com.
