Whether you call it Canada Day or Dominion Day, residents in northern Wellington County will be celebrating their heritage on July 1, and maybe even a bit on the weekends before and after.
MINTO
Redneck Games
Though it is not technically a Canada Day event, Minto’s fourth Annual Canadian Redneck Games is only a hubcap hurl away, on the weekend of June 26 to 28

Canada Day garden party
WildThings Plant Farm will be holding its annual garden party on July 1, seven kilometres west of Mount Forest, just off Highway 89.
There will be a giant native plant sale, live music, and the unique work of top Canadian artisans, plus on July 1 only, a Garden Cafe. There is free admission and parking.
Family Mini Golf
The Palmerston branch of the Royal Canadian Legion is hosting mini golf tournament between 1 and 5pm.

Canada Day celebrations
In Harriston, additional celebrations will be held at Crossroads Community Church.
Clifford car and tractor show
On the weekend following July 1, Clifford is hosting its annual Clifford Rotary Classic Car and Tractor Show in Clifford’s Rotary Park.
WELLINGTON NORTH
Three-pitch tourney
Arthur’s Canada Day weekend will begin June 26 to 28 as the Arthur Optimists hold ball tournaments all weekend.
The one on Friday will be the annual business and family three-pitch tourney, while Saturday and Sunday will be a combination of men’s and mixed tournaments.
As well, a Saturday night dance is planned featuring the group Detour.
Kids activities will be offered on the Sunday.
