Steve Scott, owner of Ashanti Elora Café, says he loves the interesting people he meets in his café.
He was delighted to meet several local authors who would come in to pen their books over a coffee.
Scott decided that his café would also be a great place for these writers to launch their works. He started the Ashanti Book Club.
Each month, a different author has an opportunity to promote their writing. Interested people can sign up for the club and for a small fee, get a copy of the book and attend a reading by the author.
The next reading is Feb. 12 at 6:30pm.
The author is Jan Beveridge and she will be answering questions and reading from her book Children into Swans, Fairy Tales and the Pagan Imagination. It is published by McGill-Queen’s University Press.
