While the July figures were down considerably from 2009, building activity in the township this year remains on pace to surpass last year’s totals.
In July, the township issued 27 building permits for projects with a total value of almost $1.77-million, which generated $16,216 in township fees. Last July those figures were 45, just over $3.8-million and $27,889 respectively.
But the year-to-date figures tell a different story.
As of July 31, 198 permits have been issued this year, almost identical to the 2009 figure of 192. However, 2010 projects are valued at $22.76-million; up 31% over the 2009 figure of about $17.35-million.
Total fees generated thus far this year are $156,596; up 7.6% over 2009 ($145,558).

Not surprisingly, agricultural projects account for the largest project values ($738,000) and fees generated ($5,738) this July.
The eight agricultural projects were outnumbered by ten single family dwelling “accessories,” but the latter only accounted for $152,902 in value and $1,922 in fees.
